Just for FUN?!?!

When I first came up to Alaska all I wanted to do was go flying on a small little cessna up here and just sight see. Of course you have to know people to do that for free or you could go pay money and have a tour company do it. Well, I have been blessed with knowing some pretty awesome people up here who happen to have their own planes and going for a flight just because in Alaska, is like going for a bike ride anywhere else. So, I have these incredible friends Joe and Kathy. Joe has a plane and he took me and Karen up a few weeks ago (See earlier blog posting). He called me up the other day and was like "Let's go the Knik Glacier", so without ANY hesitation on my part, I burned rubber to meet him. It was the most beautiful day and it's times like this that I feel like I live in a dream world. Flying over the Alaska Range for FUN?!?!? Go ahead...be jealous of me, I'm jealous of myself.
The glacier is like others I've seen up here but no matter how many times you see it, you still are speechless and in total awe of them. What an amazing thing right?? Well, here's some pictures, and as usual...the pictures do NO justice. Notice the little bright blue pockets on the top of the glacier..that's ice, and it's a BRILLIANT turquoise...crazy eh?? OH- and that's my hand on the controls..yes, I WAS FLYING! I'm kind of a rock star...
