This weekend was a pretty full weekend. Friday night I went to this thing called RefresHER. There is a church here in town that puts these on every few months for the ladies and it's just a time to come together for some fun, food, and all in all..a good message. Saturday, I spent most the day at singing practice for Sunday's service but did manage to get in a little shopping in the afternoon. Let me tell you..I pride myself of finding good deals and I found a pair of nice dress pants for work/church for $23 and then a great sweater for $9! Yes folks, I did say NINE dollars...I was stoked! Then Saturday night I had hockey tickets for the big final game between Anchorage and Fairbanks. I had been to a hockey game once when I was like 9 or 10 but I don't remember much. I was meeting Travis and my friend Becca there at the game. I pull up in the huge parking lot and I realize that I probably SHOULD have thought this..but I didn't even THINK about cash for parking..I pull up and there is like 47 grillion cars in line..so I pull up and see the guy in front of me giving cash to the parking attendant..my face got all hot and probably red..I panicked knowing I had NO cash on me. I ask him how much and he says $5 and I was so anxiety ridden for looking like such an idiot while all these cars behind me are waiting! UGH! I told him I was so embarrassed for not thinking about cash and ask him how I get out of the parking lot cause I didn't have it, he just smiled at me and said "Don't worry about it, just don't tell anyone else ;)" PRAISE THE LORD!! I about peed from my anxiety and here this nice guy just let me on through..Since I'd never been to a hockey game (that I remember anyway), when they make a goal the whole building practically shakes as sirens and horns and bells are going off...it was crazy!! But fun...we had a great time. Sunday I had church in the morning and then I spent the afternoon pampering myself which was desperately needed..just an afternoon date with myself..does it get better??
My life is full of stories that my friends love for me to share and usually are hysterical at my expense. But hey..whatever it takes to make people laugh right? My life has been nothing short of a good adventurous book that at times you can't put down, good laughs, tears, and so much more. I live up in the great North where the saying "the odds are good, but the goods are odd" rings too true. I came from the Seattle area where I have lived most of my life and while there is a vast difference between the two, there is a serenity I find here that I have never had back home. I love my family deeply, love friends ferociously, and love God more than words can describe. Welcome to my blog..happy reading friends..
