So who thought sledding in -10 degrees would be a good idea?? Naturally, Karen and I...so bundled up like 36 layers and went to this hill at the end of town(like there aren't 3,000 hills to sled on in ANC). This one however is inundated with moguls. For those of you who don't ski or snowboard, those are a series of small deathly lumps in the snow that are the direct cause of broken body parts or broken pride. In this case (sledding), broken tail bone, bruised pride, and whiplash. I'm not typically riddled with fear about much but for some reason after watching people go down this hill and launching off the moguls, I did not want to go down. It took me a good 15 minutes for the first run and it would be just my luck as I'm flying down this hill, getting vigorously tossed left and right, completely out of control, and my head bobbing like a bobble head, that I see I am heading straight for a toddler who can't get out of the way..you can imagine my anxiety and in less than 5 seconds I had completely mowed over this three year old like a riding lawn mower. THANK GOD no damage was done and I hear him laughing as I continue down the hill like a torpedo. For about three hours after sledding my cheeks were hot pink like I just ran a marathon and extremely worried I would never look the same. Alas, we had the best time ever and can't wait to go again..right after I'm done sitting on a donut and my tailbone is ready for yet another beating. So, again...who thought it would be a good idea to sled on a mogul infested hill in -10 degrees?? I did...
