Saturday I went to my friend Brad's house to can salmon (some of which I caught :) with him and another friend Andrew. It was probably -400 degrees outside and when you took a breath, you practically choked. This was the view outside Brad's house..amazing
I get there and they have a bloody mary ready to go for me! (Side note:Thank you Andrew for putting so much tobasco in mine that it burned a whole through my esophagus.) I haven't had one in a long time so it was super yummy and perfect for a freezing cold day. We canned for a bit and I have to say, it was so much fun.
Brad had said he was going to make lunch for us...a simple lunch. So he whips together this gourmet tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches (with green pepper and tomato slices) like Emeril that were anything BUT simple. The picture doesn't even capture the holiness of this meal but you can get an idea....jpg)
Then we canned more after lunch, laughed alot (mostly at Andrew), played with Brad's sweet little pup Bell,
played cards
and ate christmas cookies. Does a Saturday get any better than this??? Needless to say, it was the perfect day and I'm so thankful they invited me to be a part of it, thanks guys :)
