Catch up....

So it's been far too long...I have to admit, it gets hard to keep up with this when work cuts your access off, you have no computer of your own at home, and then to top it all off...well, I guess that's it. But hope is on the horizon peeps!! Guess who got her very own lap top?!?! Oh yeah....I might be a little behind the curve but hey, we all have are weak spots. I just had a nice little vacation that was much needed. After surgery, being stuck home for 7 weeks, getting through the holidays, and then back to work for a good two months...I was ready. I went to see my wonderful friend Megan back in DC. Everytime I go there we try and see a little history and do some fun things. Back in 08 we went out for Halloween and pretended to have english accents only to be asked by the DJ if we could announce the costume contest to 300+ people because he loved our accents..go figure. Then in 09 we drove a few hours south to a Dave Matthews concert, camped in the back of Megs car and got to tour Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's home). This time, we got to put Megs new house together, shop, and spend two really great days at Mt. Vernon (George Washington's house) and one day at the Arlington Cemetery. We had a lot of fun and it's always hard to say goodbye.
So I get home last week and that is where my precious little gift awaits...my laptop. I've named her Gertie..she's just perfect for me and I have my amazing boyfriend to thank for getting her for me.
Last weekend Fur Rondy started. If you remember from last year, that's the winter games up here for about 3 weeks. All kinds of stuff like snowshoe softball, ice sculpture contest, running with the reindeer, sled dog races, carnival rides, fireworks, and seriously...about 4 million other wacky things. It's fun though..just cold. We walked a couple miles last Sunday to the trails where the sled dog races were happening and took some amazing pictures. Yesterday and today I've been home sick with sinus and throat crap. Have I mentioned how I hate being sick? I hate it..almost as much as I hate to rake leaves.
