10 days of bliss...

It was a much needed vacation and I can honestly say that I am fully refreshed
and ready....for another vacation. HA! Not likely...Well, we started out for
Seattle last Saturday and I knew it would be a whirlwind while there but it
really was worth it. Rich was a trooper being drug around in warp speed all
over the Seattle area meeting family and friends.
We then headed for the Bay area Monday to spend a week with his sister and her
family. We spent a day hiking all around the Golden Gate Bridge, had Dim Sum,
went shopping, visited cute little towns, went to the A's game, spent a whole
day in Santa Cruz at the boardwalk, beach, and going on rides. We went to the
Shark's hockey game and it was an awesome game! Only my third hockey game ever
and I have to say, they are the best ones to go to..loads of action my friends.
There were a few highlights to this little adventure..I mean, could I have a 10
day vacation without some really great stories?? NO...not me. So, one morning I
wake up and there are these holes in the blanket I have been sleeping with
right? Well, after much research we discover they are carpet beetles! WHAT?
These things were eating fabric wrapped around my face?!?! Really excited about
that...So, another evening we had gone out for amazing Indian food in this cute
little town and after dinner, we decide to go walk along where there are shops
and outdoor restaurants, you get the idea...Rich and Dan (The only men with us
on the trip) decide to go to the car to put the food in it and grab a jacket
for one of the kids. In the meantime, Kim (Rich's sister) and her three little
precious lambs and I are peering in on this furry little goodness of a kitty at
the pet shop. I'm sitting there making all these cooing sounds really enjoying
myself when someone walks up behind me and screams in my ear "BLAAHAHAHAHAAA!"
All I can tell you is that in my mind I thought maybe the kids or Rich was
playing a joke and I turned and looked at this...well...I guess man with no
teeth, clearly off his rocker, and I'm also assuming homeless. It took me a
second to figure out what was happening while Kim and the kids were already
walking away..It felt like an eternity that I just stared at this person
completely perplexed and confused knowing it was not a face I recognized...So,
I finally get my senses about me and start walking when he gets in my face and
says "Pretty girrrrrllll....." I was like "Umm, Thank you" and kept walking..he
started following us..We were a little freaked but keeping our eyes in the back
of our heads, kept walking..I would have just ignored him but it was when he
started chanting "I'm the Devil...The Devil..." that I quickly swiveled and
said "GO, Get out of here right now"..Kim told him she was calling the police
and he says "I AM THE POLICE!" Really sir? Are you? Wow...anyway, he darted
down the alley after she started dialing and then up comes the guys..."hey
ladies!" UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...really?? Do you know what you just missed?!
Of course both of them puffed up their chests and said they would have
"handled" that guy...I'm pretty sure they even changed the octave in their
voices a few notches..
Anyway, we laughed about that little situation for days but poor little Ethan
(the youngest of the little lambs) was scared for a few days.
We went bowling and ate more...naturally eating is my favorite...and just had a
great trip. Got home last night and I'm sad to say that vacation is officially
over..work is piled up waiting for my return and I am already mentally planning
my next vacation.

While in SF last October my co-worker, her husband and I saw a man open up a street trash can, get in it and scream good night! We didn't talk about it for 48 hours...I think we all were a little stunned.
