Let's "catch" up...

We'll have to rewind a little bit here since I haven't blogged since last week. Last weekend I went fishing and it was the maiden voyage of the season for not only Trudy Baydo but also for the boat I went on. I went with my boss and her family and we left out of Seward, AK. It started out a little rough when after we got out to sea we realized that the rudders had been placed on backwards and the power of the boat was that of a row boat. We headed back to port and quickly(hour or so)fixed that and headed back out. The hunt was on for Salmon. We spent the night out there Saturday night in this most amazing cove but you know what the best part was? We were not alone...there were whales everywhere. I've been in AK for a year now and I have had YET to see a whale. I was beyond excited to see these massive creatures swimming around our boat and surfacing. I captured the best pictures I could of the spout coming out of the water as you'll see below but my camera could just not capture the true awe of this sight. Oh, AND the next day we saw a pool of orcas and one of them completely jumped out of the water next to the boat..I thought I was going to pass out from excitement!
The next day we fished all day and although we did not get any salmon, we got plenty of rockfish (which I still have plenty in my freezer from last year), so we just caught and released.

Monday, I headed down home to Seattle where I had a Division Picnic to go to and then stayed over night with my friend Tiffany since I had to attend a Business Writing class the next day down there. My friend Tiffany...we met years ago at work and immediately I loved her. She's hilarioulsy funny, almost as smart as me, and beautiful on the inside and out..I guess like me too, HA!
She just got this sweet, adorable little puppy and I couldn't wait to see it. She named him Mister. Now, I gave her a hard time about his name and decided that when I saw him, I would rename him. I tried several things but none fit like the one I finally settled on. ASLAN..just like the lion in Chronicles of Narnia! I loved it! He looks like a lion and what better to call this precious lamb of God than Aslan right? Tiff wasn't thrilled but I did get a laugh out of her..Love you Tiff!
