Anybody have spike shoes??

When I first moved up here I heard a few staple statements religously from the locals..."Winter is the hard months, you just have seen summer".."The darkness will bother you"...and one that after Sunday is now near and not dear to my heart.."You will slip and fall...everybody does it atleast once.." Now up to this point, I pride myself on being pretty steady on my feet..until Sunday.
Well, I get up and get dressed for church. Two of my friends went with me (Karen and Travis). We park and go to walk in. I am hanging on to my friend Travis's arm because I have heels on and it is SLIPPERY. Just as I get close to the door of church where people are congregating and entering, there is a small puddle that I wanted to step over so the water didn't seap into my heels. No sooner did I step than my feet went out from underneath me and I hit the ice like a block of cement. Now this was no graceful, simple fall. Every limb of my body was flaling around like a fish out of water, my hair went flying and I tried DESPERATELY not to go down. USELESS...it hurt so bad but even better bruised was my ego. FANTASTIC...I laugh even still at the thought at what I must have looked like. I've included pictures of the damage my fall has left..I hope you can feel atleast a little sorry for me!
